DELNI-AA / DELNI-BA

Oddball ethernet hub with 9 AUI connectors alone; no 10base-T, no 10base-2.

Only the last AUI connector (the “Global” connector, number 9, with a Socket/Female connector) is designed to accept an AUI transceiver module. The remaining 8 are to to be directly connected to the AUI connector of a computer or router using a DE-15 extension (“male-to-female”) cable.

In addition, the DELNI unit does not require or use the -15 V that is normally supplied by the Ethernet controller or the auxiliary power supply (DEXPS). The DELNI unit does, however, supply -15 V to its GLOBAL connector for use by a connected Ethernet transceiver. — http://www.bitsavers.org/pdf/dec/comm/EK-CMIV6-RM-005_Communications_Options_Minireference_Manual_Vol6_Aug88.pdf page “DELNI-1”
